1. Who we are
This website, theargiacollection.co.uk, is operated by Argia Property, a sole trader, trading as The Argia Collection, which runs The Patch, The Pocket and Coastal Stays. Argia Property is the data controller responsible for your personal information.
If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, you can reach us at:
- Email: [email protected]
- Post: 75 High Street, Bideford, Devon, EX39 2AA
2. What this policy covers
This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, how we use it and the rights you have. It covers all three parts of the business run on this site: The Patch (wine bar & kitchen with rooms), The Pocket (climbing gym & cafe) and Coastal Stays (holiday lets).
3. The information we collect
Depending on how you use the site, we may collect:
- Contact details you give us, such as your name, email address and phone number, when you fill in a contact form or make a booking.
- Class and event booking details when you book a session at The Pocket, including the name and, where relevant, the age or age group of the person attending.
- Order details if you buy something from our online shop, such as your name, delivery and billing address, email and phone number.
- Technical information collected automatically, such as your IP address, browser type and how you use the site.
4. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Take and manage bookings for classes and events at The Pocket, and send you confirmation emails.
- Process and deliver orders from our online shop.
- Respond to enquiries you send us through the contact forms.
- Keep our website running, secure and working properly.
- Understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
5. Our legal basis for using your information
Under UK data protection law, we rely on the following grounds:
- Contract: to take a booking or fulfil a shop order you have asked for.
- Legitimate interests: to reply to your enquiries and to run and improve our website.
- Consent: for optional cookies and analytics, which you control through our cookie banner.
- Legal obligation: where we have to keep certain records, for example for tax purposes.
6. Class and event bookings
Classes at The Pocket are booked through ClassForKids, an online booking system we use to manage bookings, registers and payments. When you book, you create an account with ClassForKids and we receive the details needed to manage the booking and run the session safely. This can include the name and contact details of the person booking, the name and age of the person attending, emergency contact details, and any medical or additional needs information you choose to give us.
Class payments, including monthly payments, are taken by Stripe on our behalf. Your card details go straight to Stripe, and we never see or store your full card number. ClassForKids and Stripe have their own privacy policies, which also apply when you use their services.
Table bookings at The Patch are made through the booking form on this site. We use your name, email address and phone number to confirm and manage your booking.
Some of our classes are for children. Where a booking is for a child, it should be made by a parent or guardian, and we only collect the information we need to run the session safely.
7. The online shop
Our shop runs on WooCommerce. When you place an order, we collect:
- your name, email address and phone number
- your billing address, and your delivery address if you choose delivery
- what you ordered, what you paid and any note you add to your order
We use these details to take payment, post your order or get it ready for collection, email you about your order, and deal with any returns, refunds or questions. We need them to carry out our contract with you, and we keep order records to meet our tax and accounting duties.
Payments are handled by our payment provider, CreatePay. Your card details go straight to them, and we never see or store your full card number. If we post your order, we give the delivery company your name, address and, where needed, your phone number so they can deliver it.
The shop uses a few essential cookies to remember what is in your basket while you shop. The basket and checkout need these to work. You can read more in our Cookie Policy.
For how orders, delivery and returns work, see our Shop Terms & Conditions, Delivery & Collection and Returns & Refunds pages.
8. Holiday lets
Our Coastal Stays holiday let pages are for information only. When you choose to book, you are taken to a third-party site such as Booking.com, which handles the booking and your details under its own privacy policy. We recommend you read that policy before booking.
9. Contact forms
When you send us a message through a contact form, the details you provide are delivered to us by email so we can reply. We use Brevo to send these messages reliably.
10. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies to help the website work and to understand how it is used. We use Google Analytics (GA4) to collect anonymous statistics about visits to the site. You can accept or reject non-essential cookies through the cookie banner when you first visit. For full details of the cookies we use, please see our Cookie Policy.
11. Who we share your information with

12. How long we keep your information
We keep your information only for as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it, and to meet any legal or accounting requirements. Booking and enquiry records are kept while they are needed and then securely deleted. Shop order records are kept for six years from the end of the tax year they relate to, as UK tax law requires.
13. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
